尽管三星电子(SamsungElectronics)与苹果(Apple)在手机和平板电脑等市场处于竞争关系，但三星近年来在晶圆代工等半导体领域大有斩获，包括苹果、高通(Qualcomm)等都是客户，台湾在晶圆及封测全球市占率分别达60~70%和50%以上，具绝对优势，半导体业者认为，台湾半导体产业链没道理在苹果订单上会赢不了三星，其关键在于台湾供应链欠缺整合，而目前台积电应是扮演整合平台最佳角色。
　　
　　三星在晶圆代工起步较晚，尽管与苹果在手机及平板电脑市场竞争，但三星在晶圆代工仍有所斩获，包括苹果、高通和赛灵思(Xilinx)等都是其客户，而台湾晶圆代工市占率60~70%，稳居全球首位，光是台积电便占有逾50%晶圆代工市场；在封测委外市场，台湾亦达到50%市占率，拥有全球第1大厂日月光及第3大厂矽品等。
　　
　　半导体业者认为，台湾半导体势力庞大，却未能追过三星、大啃苹果订单，令人匪夷所思，其关键在于没有业者可建立平台，整合台湾供应链，建立一元化服务。
　　
　　观察三星优势在于从过去与苹果合作进行创新设计，借此取得不少专利权，另外，三星过去在政府支持下，从晶圆、记忆体、封测到系统端等一元化服务，确实对终端品牌?廙嵝膇l引力，若依苹果、三星合作模式套用在台湾电子供应链，首先面临问题恐怕就是没有厂商足以领导产品定位、技术发展。
　　
　　过去台湾电子产业讲求垂直分工，由于产品设计、电路设计等皆建立标准化，各厂可单打独斗，然此一模式已不堪用，因为现在讲求创新、差异化，已无标准化可言?b导体业者表示，台积电日前表明将从晶圆代工到高阶封测端提供一元化服务，但若是以满足部分在后段需求量较小客户，这是可理解的，但要对抗三星、切进苹果供应链，仍是力有未迨。
　　
　　封测业者认为，综观半导体产业，台积电确实具大哥风范，最适合挺身而出、提供平台，从晶圆代工、IC设计、封测到系统端逐一整合，以台湾产业链完整优势，没有道理会输给三星。三星能够做到整合模式，台厂也能做到，台湾记忆体产业已风雨飘摇，面板产业也每况愈下，半导体业再不进行整合，恐怕会是下一个被三星追过的领域，但整合不能靠政府，还是要靠在产业链的各家厂商。
